The Church has always acknowledged parents as the first and most important educators of their children in matters of faith. Celebrate Together has been developed to help parishes assist parents in this task.
Celebrate Together consolidates and further develops the Sacramental education children receive in school through the Here I Am programme, or in their parish through Walk with Me, during the last weeks of preparation prior to receiving Eucharist for the first time.
Celebrate Together reinforces what children already know, understand and can do in relation to the Sacrament of the Eucharist by providing them with enriching experiences where they meet, work and celebrate with members of their parish and become familiar with the church and the Mass.
This preparation is undertaken in a very practical way. The parish catechetical team plays a key role throughout the resource. They lead the various sessions, working with parents and children alike, facilitating the children’s encounters with various liturgical ministers, and leading the celebrations that follow on from each of the children’s sessions.
A Display Panel is also available which provides a link between Home, School and Parish and which also provides an attractive memento of the First Communion Day. |
